Defying Gravity

Book Review - DEFYING GRAVITY by LAURA FARR

See what our review team is saying about Defying Gravity

This is my first book by this author and I have to say that it won't be my last. Even though it was a second story in the series, it was pretty much a stand alone. Just a few mentions from the previous book (one that I will go back to read). A sweet love story about 2 young people that had been in love with each other since children but were afraid of unrequited love among a few other things. If you are looking for a feel good, love story this book is for you.

The situation wasnt perfect, but it was perfect for them

A book about two people who are destined for each other. Their journey is hard, but so worth it. The situation wasn't perfect, but it was perfect for them. Lovely, heartwarming read.

Must Read !

Well, that was a fantastic read. As the second book for Laura to release, you can see the strength in her writing has grown. I loved the twist with Savannah's pregnancy. It certainly stood out for me. These two were definitely a perfect match

I was sooooo ready for this book it's been a tense wait I can tel ya......it really is hard to believe that this is only Laura's second book, she really does know how to write a story that grips you from the start. Savannah & Josh's story will pull you in from the get go and you won't want to let go until the very last page is read. Another amazing book by the greatly talented Laura Farr ❤️

Love love love

I was so excited for this book after reading book 1 and it didn't disappoint. I was wondering where the author would go with this story as it seemed in book 1 that Josh didn't care, but boy was I wrong! This is a sweet but sexy read that will have you swooning everywhere. I loved Josh's love for Savannah and how Savannah coped with what life was throwing at her.

Oh my!! I absolutely loved this book! I was pulled in from the first page and totally connected with Van and her unrequited love for Josh......or was it?! So much heartache and misunderstandings between these two that my heart broke for them.

This author takes you on a journey, you get swept up into the lives of this couple and I so wanted them to get their HEA......they thoroughly deserved it.........you will have to read it to find out if they did! I absolutely recommend this book!

Defying Gravity is book 2 in the Healing Hearts series. While it can be read as a stand alone, I really felt I should have read the first book before reading this one. I loved the story between Josh and Savannah! The situation that they find themselves and the choices Josh make just totally endear him to your heart. The story telling was wonderful and I loved how the time progressed in the book. Great writing! I will be going back and reading book 1. I also find myself if book 3 will be about Savannah's brother??? (Hint, hint, hint).

A must read

I'm at a loss for words, this book is as heart breaking as it is beautiful. it can be read as a stand alone. Savannah has been in love with her brothers best friend for as long as she can remember, only recently coming to terms that they won't ever be together. She ends up making mistakes that lead her right to her true love, and them mistakes don't seem so bad any more. the road to true happiness is never straight forward and there are always obstacles in the way, but what Savannah and Josh have is true, there love is amazing and extremely deserved after what they have been through to end up together.

Savannah knew her life was going to change when she say the positive result on the pregnancy test. She just didn’t know how much her life was going to change. She has been in love with Josh since she was a teenager, but now she just knows that they could never be together because why would be want to be with her when she is having another man’s baby. Never the less when she can’t even remember who the father is.

Josh has loved Savannah since they both were only teenagers. But there was no way that he could be with her and give her everything that she could want. At least that is what he has told himself over the years. Yet he can’t stand for another man to touch her, or even for her to find love with another person. Now he thinks he’s too late she pregnant by another man, so he’s lost his chance and she loves another, at least that’s what he thinks.

I will say that I liked this story. Both want to be together, yet they just don’t think that it will every come to be. The situation that Savannah finds herself in is one that can make anyone think that now you will never have what you want. But, life has other plans for her and when her story unfolds, I found myself liking the way that it was heading. I wish that the story was longer. I can’t wait to get the next part of this series.

Savannah Parker is miserable. The reason: Josh Miller, her brother’s best friend. Devastated by the unrequited love she has for Josh, she has no choice but to sit back and watch him play the field, her heart breaking a little more each time she sees him. In an attempt to forget about Josh and move on, she distances herself from those who love her. Josh is never far from her thoughts though. In a desperate attempt to feel something for someone and fill the void, she makes a reckless choice—one that will change her life forever. Once her secret is revealed, relationships are threatened, and Savannah stands to lose those closest to her. When she needs someone the most, Josh proves to be her greatest support, and soon the lines of friendship become blurred. When she confronts him about his feelings for her, he reveals a secret of his own—one that could destroy them before they’ve even started. Can Savannah and Josh make a relationship work? Or are there some secrets that are too hard to overcome? Defying Gravity is book 2 in the Healing Hearts series.
