The Coaching Hours

Book Review - THE COACHING HOURS by SARA NEY

The Coaching Hours was a highly entertaining read with a very sweet sweet story. In this one however there are no douchebags, well not in the case of the hero in this story anyway... In this instance we get a hero that's the type of guy that you would love. He's driven, smart, caring, protective yet still completely appealing. This storyline still though still fits with the series and we do get to some of the characters from the past make a brief appearance which I loved. I don't just like an easy story though, you know boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and they ride off into the sunset and nothing ever goes wrong. I like a bit of angst and there is definitely a bit of it in this book and it did make my heart beat a little faster and had me holding my breath. I found myself invested in the story between the two main characters and I loved watching this relationship evolve. There were also times where I found myself chuckling with some of the banter back and forth in this book. Smiling at some of the sweet and awkward moments that happened and full on sighing with delight at how this ended. This has been such a good series and I have definitely enjoyed the ride that Sara Ney has taken me on.

THERE ARE NO DOUCHEBAGS IN THIS STORY. Well, there are, but they’re not who this story is about. This story is about me—the coach’s daughter. When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university's take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie—living with my father would be temporary, and he'd make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone. Wrong on both counts. ASSHOLES ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK WHEN THE STAKES ARE HIGH. A bet is placed, and I'm on the table. After one humiliating night and too much alcohol, I find the last nice guy on campus. And when he offers to rent me his spare bedroom, I go all in. It’s time for the nice guy to finish first. Midnight chats and spilling my problems turn to lingering touches. Lingering touches turn to more. And the ultimate good guy has the potential do more damage than any douchebags ever could.
