Things in Layla Fox’s life were going great. She had a fantastic job, amazing friends, and a killer apartment. There was just one tiny glitch in all that perfect. Her upstairs neighbor was the very definition of tall, dark, and handsome . . . and she hated the man with every cell in her body. ⁣ Jude Kingsley was the most arrogant jerk she’d ever met, making the fact that she was attracted to him more than a little inconvenient. ⁣ When the two of them are forced together by Jude’s meddling grandmother, the bitter rivalry between the two feuding neighbors suddenly turns into something very different. And a raw, intense chemistry like theirs is bound to explode if they aren’t careful. ⁣ **𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘋𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘪𝘴 a 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴.** Rating ★★★★★ I gobbled up this Enemies to Lovers romance right quick. The antics between the two MC's was downright entertaining as heck. And I will be honest when I say at some point I didn't want that to end while at the same time the tension between these two was a clear as day and I couldn't wait for these two to finally get with the program. Layla was so very loveable and she was one of those female characters that had you rooting for her to get her HEA with someone who would treat her the way she deserved. Jude well, he had to convince me that he was the right man for the job and I love that Jessica Prince made him work for it and rightfully so. But boy oh boy did he have those moments that had you sighing in book boyfriend bliss. And I need to talk about one of my all time fav side characters from Jessica Prince ever and that was the absolutely entertaining as all heck Grandmother Kingsley she was kick ass. I loved everything about that woman. Dare I say she may have even stole the spotlight multiple times from Jude and Layla. Knockout was exactly what I've come to expect from Prince and that's a fantastic read that I loved. Funny, entertaining and everything you would want in a romance. Just goodness all around Reviewed by Melissa The doors of the elevator slid open and the good mood I’d been in all day evaporated like a single drop of water falling onto desert sand. “Of freaking course,” I grumbled sullenly as Jude Kingsley stepped into the elevator. He returned my glare before stopping beside me and turned to face the front. “And I’d been having such a good day up to this point,” he muttered bitterly. I let out a snort and fluttered my eyelashes. “What, did you pop a little kid’s balloon? Maybe cut in front of a pregnant lady in line at the coffee shop?” I snapped my fingers. “Oh, I know! You kicked a poor, innocent puppy on the sidewalk. That’s what had you so chipper, isn’t it?” He gave me a smirk, and damn it, why did it have to look so good on him? The son of a bitch. “I woke up happy,” he stated, and it would have been a lie if I claimed I didn’t find that admission somewhat intriguing. Turning to face me, he took a step toward me, closing some of the distance between us. The move was unexpected, and my heartrate spiked at his closeness. The small elevator car suddenly felt even tinier, like the walls were closing in. The air was filled with his scent. Something like cedar and sun mixed with a spicy musk that reminded me of the outdoors. My chest stuttered on a choppy inhale when I tilted my head back to look up at him. In all the months we’d been enemies, this had to be the first time we’d been so close to each other. With hardly any space between us, I was able to see that those midnight blue eyes of his also held flecks of golden honey. He blinked slowly as he stared down at me, those long, sooty lashes lying across his sharp cheekbones before he opened them again. “I had the best dream last night.” He stopped, waiting for me to ask what he dreamed about, like he knew that statement and his proximity had left me way off-kilter, my curiosity piqued. Stupid intuitive jerk. Unable to help myself, I arched a questioning brow. “Oh?” His voice dropped lower, taking on an almost velvety soft quality. “Yeah. You were in it, princess.” My skin felt tingly, my mouth was Sahara dry. I didn’t feel like myself all of a sudden. It was almost as if he’d cast a spell, and I was just along for the ride, unable—or maybe unwilling at that point—to take control back. It was those eyes, man. Those freaking dark, alluring, sexy bedroom eyes. There wasn’t a woman in the world who’d be able to resist their power up close. Not even me. I tried to swallow past the cotton taking up residence in my throat and croaked, “What—what was your dream about?” He started speaking in a tone that could only be described as intoxicating. “Well, you see, it was a beautiful, sunny day, and we were standing on the sidewalk outside the building. You were in these jeans that made your ass look incredible.” His tongue peeked out and swiped across his plump bottom lip. “I couldn’t stop staring. Then . . . ” I was straight up enraptured at that moment. Oh my God. What is happening right now? “Then what?” “Then . . . you stepped off the curb and got hit by a bus.” It was like a bucket of ice water being dumped over my head. Whatever voodoo he was working broke right then, and I remembered instantly that I wanted this man to die by a thousand papercuts—preferable by my hand. Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all. Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says. In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand. Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not. • JEGUDIEL by TILLIE COLE

Title: Jegudiel Series: Deadly Virtues Author: Tillie Cole Genre: Dark Romance Release Date: May 30, 2021 They are the Fallen. A brotherhood of murderers whose nature compels them to kill. But guided by their leader, Gabriel, the Fallen have learned to use their urges to rid the world of those it is better off without. Control. Diel has spent his entire life under it. His childhood years were spent in the sadistic captivity of the Brethren. Now the Fallen are free, but the monster that lives inside Diel is not—can not be. The darkness within is curbed by an electric collar, the only thing that stops Diel from killing everyone in his path. Diel’s monster yearns for freedom—the freedom to tear apart Brethren priests, as many as possible, one after the other in a frenzied, liberating spree. When Diel is granted a taste of that freedom, he expects bloodlust, violence, death. He didn’t expect to find her. The Fallen are not the only ones chasing the destruction of the Brethren. They were not the only ones to suffer at the priests’ hands. This Diel discovers when he stumbles upon Noa, second in command of the Coven, a group of women who are intent on bringing the Brethren down. From the second they collide, Noa seems to understand Diel in a way that no one ever has before. She is unafraid of his rage, the bloodthirsty monster that dwells within him. Because there is a darkness inside Noa too, and it recognises the one in Diel as if it is the missing half of her soul. For years she has tried to suppress it, but as she is inescapably drawn to the fury-filled man in the collar, she starts to wonder if she can keep up the fight. She starts to wonder if she even should… Dark contemporary romance. Contains sexual situations, violence, sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language, and topics some may find triggering. Recommended for age 18 years and up. Rating ★★★★ The second novel from Tillie Coles Deadly Virtue series, Jegudiel follows the dark world of The Fallen. A group of men with dark thoughts who suffered horrific abuse at the hands of those called The Brethren. This book is absolutely not for the faint of heart. This story as with the ones before in this series are intense and I couldn't help but get wrapped up in it all. This book is also a continuation of a storyline that begins with the Novella, The Fallen. You would need to read this in order to understand it all. The biggest thing for me with these books was how I was able to connect with the main characters. Diel is intent on spilling blood, so much so that he needs to be physically restrained. There's very little we know of his past other then what he was subjected to as a young man under the care of the Brethren. Tillie Cole does a fantastic job of making me see beyond Diel's transgressions. I find myself in his corner, wanting to even exact revenge against those that have harmed him. You're captivated as you follow his path to acceptance of who he truly is and I found myself happy that he is able to find love amongst the darkness. As this storyline continues so does my love for all of the characters in this, even the new ones that Tillie has introduced us to specifically in this book. Cole has this way of drawing you in with her writing. She's a master of Dark Romance and quickly becoming a go to author for me. Another fantastic story in this highly addictive series. I am looking forward to what's to come. Reviewed by Melissa Tillie Cole hails from a small town in the North-East of England. I’ve lived the entirety of my life wrapped up in subterfuge for one purpose—revenge. Through the years, I lived more as an enigma than a man. For so long, I denied I had a beating heart of my own. Until her. Until she unearthed the starving vessel inside, forced me to acknowledge it, forced me to understand that I’m capable of bleeding the same as any other. For that, we paid. We're still paying. Yet, she demands it still, the useless heart of the ruthless thief and shameless villain she fell for. My fear is, I’m no longer that man. With the lies I’ve told, the life I’ve led, my mistakes are beginning to catch up with me, day by day, one by one. This is my last chance, and I have no intention of losing her again, but as the deception of my past starts to unravel and close in, shedding my humanity may be the only thing that can save us both. Maybe it’s already too late. Rating ★★★★★ "With us, looking is love, fighting is love, fucking is love, and even now, while we muddle through our collective, but distinctly different fears, it's love." And to think that this was originally going to be just a newsletter exclusive at one point. So glad that Kate made it into a full length novel and boy oh boy is this book thick !! You will want to savour every word, every moment of it. Kate does what she does so very well and that's take you on a journey. This stunning conclusion to the Ravenhood series will captivate you. Tobias and Cecelia will enthralled you as they figure out their future together. Full of secrets that will have you glued to the pages. The tensions is palpable, the emotions are high and I was captivated by it all. So much to absorb and with every book you hope you are left satisfied with the outcome while at the same time hoping that you enjoyed the ride to the end. I can tell you that this series is epic, it's amazing and it's sooo very worth it. It's just one of those stories that will stick with you. I would rather be tortured for an eternity than hear those damn words from one more person, as if Claire, my dead fiance, was a cell phone or car keys. How about, I'm sorry your life is over. I'm sorry you want to die too. I'm sorry you see her in your dreams and wake up only to relive the nightmare. I'm supposed to be the strongest of them all. Ash Abandonato, ruler, assassin, made man, brother, friend—instead, I hurt everyone I touch in hopes that they'll feel even a sliver of the pain that bears down on my shoulders. I didn't lose. It was taken from me. And it's all her fault, Annie Smith. I daydream about her death. And then I close my eyes, and I see her soft smile. I feel her touch, her kiss—it was a mistake what we did that night, but I can't take it back, and now she's under my father's protection—my protection. My worst enemy. The woman I'm the most attracted to. I can't decide if I want to strangle her or kiss her, and now that she's stuck in my life, my only goal is to make her feel the same loss I do and destroy her in the process. I'll trick her with my touch. Seduce her with my kiss. And in the end, when my enemy is at her most vulnerable—I'll bring down an entire Empire and continue my reign as King. Bow down, I'll say as I bring the Five Families to their knees. Blood in. Never out. Damned. Rating ★★★★★ I always get excited when a book from one of my favorite worlds lands on my kindle. This Mafia world that Rachel has built it one of those ones that I wish was real just so I could be a part of it, even if it is about the Mafia. These characters are larger than life and I get absorbed in their stories. Destructive King was one of my most anticipated reads for the year. I knew Ash's story was going to be about loss, I knew his story would be full of heartache. I knew his character would be one that was needing to find peace and before that peace would be a lot of pain and I was ready for it. SO ready for it. The dang Prologue had me taking a breath thinking OH BOY that's how you start a book off. Damn, ok buckle up. I am a sucker for books that feature Hero's that are going through some real shit. I love seeing them find their way out of despair. I love when I see that love can help them do that. This book was full of that mafia drama that I've come to know and love from this series. Rachel does an amazing job of infusing a bit of humour as well just at the right moments. And I will say that it makes me fall more in love with this world. I legit want to be a part of it, I want to attend a dinner with the families, I want to live in the moments. That's what a good story does in my opinion it makes you want to be a part of it. Destructive King will keep you on your toes until the very end. And what an ending. I'm not going to say anymore than that, you will see what I mean when you get there. • Guilty Pleasure by Jessica Prince

Title: Guilty Pleasure Series: Redemption Series Author: Jessica Prince Genre: New Adult Release Date: January 10, 2021 What do you do when the most intense passion you’ve ever felt is with a person you hate? The only thing worse than living in a town where everyone hates you is having to work for the man who broke your heart. Redemption, Tennessee held nothing but painful memories that Lark Ashton had no desire to rehash. After the only man she’s ever loved crushed her soul and spirit, and all her friends turned their backs on her, she swore to herself she’d never go back. But when her aunt calls, asking a favor she can’t possibly refuse, Lark finds herself public enemy number one . . . again Clay Morrison has spent seven years trying to convince himself he’s no longer in love with Lark Ashton. But when the woman he thinks betrayed him and his family returns, she brings with her a whole slew of feelings he’s worked hard to ignore. Now he can’t get the bane of his existence out of his head. She’s in desperate need of a job. He can’t resist the chance to have her at his mercy. And they’re both about to discover what happens when the most intense passion they’ve ever felt is with a person they hate. At Lumpy’s little yip of excitement, I looked down and covered my mouth with a finger. “Shh!” I whispered. “Do you want us to get caught?” I could have sworn he understood me, because he turned and looked at the kitchen’s doorway, raising his ears slightly like he was listening closely to make sure no one was coming. “Good boy,” I crooned quietly when he looked back up at me with those big, round chocolaty eyes. “You keep quiet and I’ll give you all the treats.” Just to show him I was a woman of my word, I pulled another piece of thinly sliced chicken from the deli bag I’d found in one of the fridge’s drawers. That was the fifth slice I’d given sweet Lumpy since I spotted Clay’s name written on one side of the bag in black permanent marker. As far as I was concerned, he totally deserved it. “Is that good chicken?” I cooed, smiling wide when Lumpy’s tail began swishing back and forth across the floor like a hyper little bunny. “Yeah. I bet it is. I bet your daddy spent a pretty penny, getting that from the butcher instead of the sandwich meat section like a regular person.” I pulled out another slice and tossed it up so Lumpy could chomp it midair. Next I was going to teach him how to balance a treat on his nose before catching it. “Serves him right for making me clean out the stupid fridge.” I’d been with Morrison Construction for three days, and as I suspected, Clay was going out of his way to make my job miserable. There hadn’t been another blowup like the insanely tense scene in Callum’s empty office, however that didn’t mean he was taking it easy on me. Because he absolutely wasn’t. But I wasn’t going to let him see how much he was getting to me. The more I swallowed down my snide comments or bit my cheek until it bled to keep from calling him every vile curse in the history of the human word, the angrier he seemed to get. For some reason, it felt like he wanted me to fight back. So I wouldn’t give him that luxury. It was childish, pushing his buttons like that, but I was giving myself that little rebellion. Rating ★★★★ Guilty Pleasure is a second chance, love/hate romance full of emotion with some seriously hot office scenes that will have you saying yes please. Lark's return to Redemption is met with nothing but hostility and from the get go I found myself angry on her behalf. Instead of running however she stands her ground and I'm immediately drawn to her strength. In fact the entire book I found myself Team Lark and at multiple times wished I could slap the ever loving crap out of some people in this book. Now enter Clay, he is an alpha no doubt about that. And I love Jessica's alpha H's. They have this sexiness about them that tends to ooze from the pages with their demands and display's of protectiveness. Clay definitely should all those things. Clay also did make me a bit ragey I have to admit. Hot and cold at times I found myself wanting to also smack him upside the head, I found my feelings towards him up and down. This story will gut you at times as you find out the circumstances surrounding Lark's departure from Redemption to begin with. My heart ached for her every time someone was nasty towards her, while at the same time cheered her on because she was so resilient. And can we talk about the sexual tension between Clay and Lark. The back and forth jabs that seem to cut like a knife while at the same time that undeniable pull towards one another. I could feel the intensity pouring off the pages, especially in some of the office scenes. Yowzers. Redemption was easily gobbled up, and I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I don't think I will ever stop reading books from Prince. • The Cabin by Jasinda Wilder

Title: The Cabin Author: Jasinda Wilder Genre: Romantic Suspense Publication Date: September 8, 2020 One look. One moment. One girl. She was all it took for me to lose my focus. My whole life changed in the blink of an eye. The power addicting. The control I craved. The authority lethal. It was mine. She. Was. Mine. Sienna Contessa Luciano, soon to be... Mrs. Martinez. My wife. Whether she wanted to be or not. STANDALONE: Romance Suspense full-length novel. Rating ★★★★★ Reviewed by Melissa OH MY GAWD !!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Jasinda Wilder came for my Ugly tears and had me crying buckets with The Cabin. An absolutely breath taking epic story of LOVE !!! Yes this falls into Epic category for me. I am going to be pretty vague in this review because you truly need to experience everything that is The Cabin. This book is heartbreaking but and hear me out. What follows the heartbreak and yes there is heartbreak, is what I can only describe as an incredible act of love. An unconditional, powerful display of what lengths one is willing to go to take care of the one they love the most. I would actually love to see this book come to fruition on the big screen so that I could experience this all over again. It would make one hell of a movie let me tell you. Movie moguls out there hear my prayers. I've put myself in the shoes of the characters and I think how difficult it was for them. And then I think to have that kind of love for someone, to be on the receiving end of that kind of love. It leaves me breathless. Absolutely breathless. The Cabin is going on my top reads list of 2020 and is undoubtedly my Top Ugly cry this year.. 1: NDA “All right, Mr. Bell. You’re all set here, I think.” The nurse is that peculiar, unique brand of brusque efficiency and Zen-like kindness you only find in an oncology department. She fiddles with the IV line puncturing my left arm, the off-white, veiny medical tape securing it to my forearm. Her eyes are brown, the exact shade of a chocolate Labrador’s fur. She is warm, and caring, but lurking beneath that veneer of caregiver kindness is the detached iciness of someone whose job it is to watch people die. “It will take a couple hours for this to drip through, and then we have to monitor you for—” “I know,” I interrupt. I open the lid of my laptop. “I’ve been through this a few times.” She smiles. “Of course, Mr. Bell. If you need anything, just press the call button.” I hesitate a few seconds and then say, “There is something.” Then I glance at the curtain which is not quite pulled shut. She catches my meaning and brings the two ends of the curtain together, the metal rings rasping with a rattling ring. “What can I do for you, Mr. Bell?” I reach into my messenger bag, sitting on the floor next to this monstrosity of a chair—a freakish, Frankensteinian thing, not quite a lounger and not quite a clinical, medical device, but something in between. It’s made from a rubbery plastic or vinyl material that squeaks at every slight movement, and is too hard and too upright to be truly comfortable, but when you kick back in it and lift the footrest, it forces you into a near-horizontal recline in an unnatural defiance of gravity. The chair is distracting, and I hate the chair almost as much as I hate the ward, the IV, and the whole damned morbid circus. In my bag is a thin manila folder. On the label I’ve written three letters in neat block handwriting, in black Sharpie: NDA. I withdraw a single sheet of paper, on which are two and a half paragraphs, single-spaced. It’s in tight, clear legalese, drawn up by my attorney, printed on formal, intimidating letterhead. I hand it to the nurse whose nametag, clipped to her pale green sleeve, announces her as Tiffany Snell, R.N, O.C.N. “This is an NDA, a nondisclosure agreement.” She allows a frown, briefly. “Okay?” I keep my voice low, not whispering, but pitched for her ears only. “I’m here alone, as I’m sure you’ve noticed.” “Yes. Which is why your observation period has to be so long.” “I know.” I reach into my bag and pull out a pen—it’s a nice pen, hefty, metal, with a satisfying clicker, and on the side is my name: Adrian Bell, and my logo, a coat of arms with my monogram. It’s recognizable to most people, that logo; you see it on the title page of my books, on my website, and expensively animated as a production company logo during the title sequences when you watch movies made from my books. I hand her the pen, tap the NDA with it. “This says you will not disclose to anyone that I was here at all, let alone why. I’m paying for this with cash, so there’s no insurance paperwork trail.” She frowns again as she reads. “Why is it a secret, may I ask?” “I have my reasons,” I say. “Whatever else must be done in the process of this infusion, I would like you to do, including observation and my eventual discharge. All right? This means that just one person has to sign this little item.” I tap the NDA again. “And if I don’t sign it?” It’s not meant belligerently, just…a simple question. I smile. “Tiffany—Miss Snell. Do I really need to spell this out? You know who I am. I don’t want this getting out. That’s all. I’m protecting my privacy.” She breathes out gently—it’s not a sigh, more of a thoughtful breath. “What about your wife? Why isn’t she here?” It takes all I have to not wince at the question. “I’m going to have to decline to answer that, Miss Snell. Can you please just sign? It just means you don’t tell anyone I was here. If coworkers ask, you simply say you can’t talk about it. Don’t make a big deal about it, just that—I can’t talk about it. That’s all.” I pause, smile again. “Would it help you to know I’m a yearly donor to this facility?” She rolls a shoulder. “Not really. I’m just a nurse.” Another of those thoughtful out-breaths. “Mr. Bell, I’ll sign your NDA. But I have to register my thoughts with you. Hiding this is not fair.” Her warm brown eyes momentarily reveal the sadness she normally keeps hidden. “I’ve seen your file, obviously. What you’re dealing with, it’s…it’s not…” “It doesn’t have a stellar survival rate,” I finish. “I know.” “Hiding it from your wife, Mr. Bell—” “Adrian.” “It’s really, really not fair of you, Adrian. You’re not doing her any favors. I obviously don’t know a thing about your marriage, but if she loves you—” I let out a shaky breath, cut her off. “She does, Tiffany. More than I deserve. More than…More than is, perhaps, healthy.” “So why—” “I have my reasons,” I say again. Now I do not smile. I frown in a way that says this conversation has to be over. “It’s not fair of me, I know. Believe me, I know. But it’s not fair that I have this. That I’m here. It’s not fair that I’m paying as much for this treatment as I am. What in your life can you list as unfair, Tiffany? A lot, I’m sure. Fair is a myth. Fair does not exist.” She gazes at me evenly, steadily and then takes the pen from me. Signs the NDA in a nurse’s hasty scrawl. Dates it. Hands me the pen. “Keep it.” She lets a small smile cross her lips. “I’ve read all your books, you know. I enjoy them. They make me feel like I can believe in love again.” She gestures with the pen. “Thank you.” “If you happen to have a copy with you, I’ll sign it for you.” She bites a lip. “I do, actually.” “Bring it when you come to check on me.” She nods, hooks the pen by the clip at an angle in the V of her scrub top. Smiles at me again, and leaves. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, my mother used to tell me. I enter the passcode on my laptop; there’s Wi-Fi here, so I could check email, but I don’t. In fact, I turn Wi-Fi off, so I won’t be distracted by the siren song of email, pull my wireless earbuds from my bag, and turn on Rostropovich via my phone. I open my manuscript. Close my eyes, take a deep breath, hold it, and let it out slowly. Repeat four times. Pushing away, mentally, the fog of the chemo, the pinch of the IV, the continual beeping of IV machines indicating a bag is finished, the occasional static PA announcements, the squeak of sensible sneakers, and the murmur of quiet conversations. Push it all away. Find my flow. It’s there, under the surface. It’s always there; it’s always been there. Like Louis L’Amour said, I could sit in the middle of Sunset Boulevard with a typewriter on my knees, and once I’m in the flow, I wouldn’t notice a thing but the words on the page. With this story I’m working on now, though, it’s harder, and it takes more effort to sink down into it, more mental gymnastics to get into the flow. I need to find the right balance, tap into the necessary emotions, while still remaining the objective storyteller. This one is personal. More than all the other books I’ve written over my career, this one…this one requires more of me. And I have to get it right. I’m writing it for an audience of one. Well, two. But really, just one. Her. My love. My Nadia.
