Taking Charge

Book Review - TAKING CHARGE by REBECCA BARBER

See what our review team is saying about Taking Charge

These two were a great match. I wish we'd seen more of them as a couple, but, hopefully we'll see more of them in the rest of the series. I'm eager to read Nate and Dericks stories too, which are characters named in this, but it's not a must. I feel there is more to the break up though with Hayden, so hopefully more will be revealed.

A sweet read about heart break but most importantly, healing. The special people who pick you up and put the pieces back together. A good, lovely read!

This is the first time I have read anything by Rebecca Barber. I loved it. The Meet the McIntyres series looks to be on my keep a lookout for list. I loved the way Payton and Beau jelled. Payton, coming out of a bad relationship need Beau. She was broken and lost and needed to find her real self again. Beau has come home after being away for awhile and need someone to ground him. They both needed each other to be complete. I can't wait to see what happens next and which brother will be the next to fall.

This is my first book of Rebecca Barbers and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Taking Charge is book one in the Meet the McIntyres Series and I really enjoyed getting to know Beau and Payton.

Beau returns home after a call from one of his younger brothers, he knew his time of being young and free was coming to an end but when he gets home things aren't at all what he thought they'd be. Payton is new to the town and owns the bakery, she left her hometown and bestfriend after catching her fiance in bed with someone else.

These two had some amazing chemistry and Beau really showed Payton how beautiful and sexy she was, he was just what she needed. Payton was the only thing that grounded him and helped put his life into perspective.

I really enjoyed this read, it was sweet, hot, emotional, full of drama with plenty of ups and downs. The writing flowed easily, it was gripping as well as intriguing and I am looking forward to more McIntyres.

This was my first book from this author and I absoloutely loved it. Payton was amazing, Beau was sexy and I really felt part of the family!

Cannot wait for the next one in the series <3

Beau McIntyre knew the party had to end sometime – he just didn’t realise it would end so soon. After receiving a frantic phone call from his younger brother, Beau is forced to face his responsibilities and return to the small country town and the farm he grew up on. After finding her fiancé in bed with another woman, Payton packs up her life and her livelihood and escapes her personal torment by fleeing to the country. Settling in a small town, she works her butt off to establish her bakery and turn her dream into everything she ever wanted. The moment Beau meets the voluptuous Payton, there's an instant spark and he quickly decides that despite the drama facing his family, Payton could be the one good thing in his life. The only problem is that Payton clearly has no interest in anything more than a night or two of uninhibited passion. Will Beau be able to convince Payton to give him a chance of something more, by letting go of her painful past?
