Review: FINISH LINE by Stephanie Nichole

Series: The James Brother Series

Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: January 4, 2019

You’ve met the rest of the James brothers now meet Jovi.

Jovi James has always been different from his brothers but he still craved the speed of a car just like they did. Jovi makes the decision to join the Marines right before high school graduation. No one knew the real reasons behind his decision but they supported him. On his last night in town he bumps into Summer Beckham, new to the area country girl. That night changed them both forever.

Tragedy struck Jovi while in the Marines, leaving him tainted and surrounded in darkness. He’s desperate to keep the darkness and memories at bay but when he fails it becomes clear to everyone Jovi has more issues than they expected. Jovi needs a ray of light to guide him but will he accept that Summer might just be that ray of light?

Summer Beckham has tragedy of her own. Tragedy she doesn’t want to talk about. Meeting Jovi by chance gave her the first flicker of hope but it was ripped away when he cut ties. Now, four and half years later he’s back. She tries to hold on to the hurt and the anger but the pull towards Jovi is too much.

Will Summer be able to save Jovi from his own personal hell or will she have to let him go? If Jovi allows the light back in will it last?

Rating ★★★

Heartbreaking story with heartwarming end.

This was the first book I had ever read by Stephanie Nichole and I was pleasantly surprised. Her storyline captures so much emotion and she has a gift with storytelling that I loved. Jovi and Summer both have painful pasts experiencing separation from one another, a love storying spanning over years which was enjoyable to read. They go through much heartbreak and a push and pull game which isn't overdone and makes your heart ache. The only wish I have is that from the point where Jovi deals with his PTSD and they chose to pursue a relationship together there would be more time spent together talking to one another and getting to know them. I feel there's a lot on Jovi's family dynamic which I loved as it was heartwarming to read about their love for one another however, I felt the as though I couldn't really connect with the characters as I didn't know them enough. I definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a sweet, heartwarming and heartbreaking story.

Out of all the brothers Jovi was the one we saw the least of throughout, so I feel.he was always a but if a mystery. He certainly managed to hold up the James brothers reputation of slightly damaged but so loveable. This whole series has been great

Stephanie Nichole lives in a small town with her family in New Mexico. She graduated college in 2010 with a degree in business and accounting. However, her true passion is all things book related. As a student English and Literature were her favorite subjects. Weekly library trips with her mother also helped instill her love for books. Stephanie would look forward to summer most of all, not because she was out of school but for the summer reading groups at her local library. After a friend’s encouragement she started her author journey in 2016. Stephanie is an avid book, music and old Hollywood movie lover. When she's not busy reading or writing she's probably binge watching Netflix or PassionFlix. Some of her favorite authors are: Edgar Allan Poe, K. Bromberg, Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover, Alessandra Torre, Tarryn Fisher, Nicholas Sparks and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Stephanie also loves to connect with her readers and love social media.
