Hate To Love You

Book Review - HATE TO LOVE YOU by TIJAN

Shay Coleman is definitely book boyfriend material in so many ways. So I am a huge fan of hate to lover books, I always except some witty banter back and forth btw the two main characters. If you can throw in a bit of Angst and some WTF moments well then I am sold. Hate to Love You has all the elements that I love in a book. With a hot, sometimes cocky hero who seemingly has everything at his fingertips. Every girl wants him and he is literally friends with everyone. Usually I find that the hero's in these types of books are assholes to everyone around them however in this one, Shay was just a jerk to one person really and that was Kennedy Clarke. The hate between these two was almost instant and it makes for a very entertaining read. Kennedy is definitely guarded to the point where she always seems to be on the attack when she encounter people. She is a loner by choice and Shay is right there to constantly push her buttons. You know how they say "The bark is worse then the bite" well in the case of Kennedy her bark at times was definitely worse. #BallCrusher These two have a relationship that borders full on disdain it seems at times but as this book goes on the chemistry between the two intensifies. During the course of this book there are things happening in the background and situations that occur that will make you think ERMAGAWD what in the shit !!!! Kennedy remains a bit of a puzzle throughout as you are wanting to know what her story is? Why is she the way that she is and I'll be honest at times I thought to myself GURL is Crazy !!!! I found myself willing Shay to break through those walls Kennedy has built and let me tell you Shay delivered in more ways then one. I would definitely have fallen willing victim to his relentless pursuit. Overall this was a great college hate to lovers romance. You will definitely fall in love with Shay Coleman and the story will have you at times on edge while making you want to find out how it all ends up for these two.

Rule #1: No hot guys. It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone. No one would know me at college. Rule #2: No drama. I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them. Rule #3: New year. New place. New me. Right? Wrong. And all because of Shay Coleman. Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight . . . . . . and he was about to break all my rules.
