Mercy
Book Review - MERCY by DEBRA ANASTASIA
Mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!! I immediately wanted this book because well that cover called to me. This book is full of some angst, a bit of heart break, danger, and a man that I absolutely fell in love with. Fenix oh my gawd he was scary to others and my heart just shattered for him because he the lengths he goes to to escape his past and the evilness of his father just destroyed me a bit. This is really a book that tells us that you don't judge someone based on their appearance and you don't know what someone has truly gone through in life. This book definitely had me engaged with the story of Fenix and how he felt the need to protect those that may not have been able to protect themselves. His methods weren't always on the up and up but regardless his determination to protect and his absolute devotion to them made me love him even more. I definitely wanted him and Rebecca to find an HEA even if it was unconventional and dangerous. This story didn't disappoint and it was so told in such a way that I could picture exactly what the characters looked like in my head. If you are looking for a book that will have you captivated by the characters, the story and their journey from the beginning up until the end that definitely get this book. I could even venture to say that this is a modern day Beauty and the Beast but with far more danger, far more obstacles and way more heartbreak.

He taught me to kill. Murder is in my blood now. It runs through my veins and though I hide the monster I see in the mirror with ink, it doesn’t keep him from coming out. My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn’t know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target. My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I’m the only monster who can save her.
