Review: Finding Home by K.L. Humphreys

Genre: New Adult

Publication Date: February 21st, 2019

Trent

How do you go home when home is gone? I’ve paid my dues for protecting someone I love. In return my family, my life, and my freedom—all taken from me. When a friend calls in a favor, I go from nothing…to having a job and a place to live. A fresh start brings something more; a woman who brings out my protective instincts. She's been hurt—it's written all over her. There's one thing for sure, I want her. And I vow that nothing will ever harm her again.

Michelle

I've hit rock bottom, and I've slowly climbed my way back up. Now, I keep myself locked away. It's easier than letting people in and telling them about that night. I live my life in the shadows because happiness is something that I can't have. I keep my pain where it belongs, in the past. I keep my secrets buried deep down. Now my past is colliding with my future, and I'm not sure how I'm going to survive. But in the midst of the darkness is a shining light: Trent. Sometimes you find home in the place you least expect it.

Rating ★★★★★

This book is my favourite of this author's without a doubt. The difficult subject matter was written with care and understanding. Trent and Michelle's story is beautiful, it had me in tears at certain points but it was totally worth it in the end. KL Humphreys writes a heart breaking story of overcoming your past and fears and it was AMAZING

Rating ★★★

I found it a little slow to get in to. Some parts a little wishy washy. It was sweet and certainly touches on a tough subject with tact and depth. Not one of my favourites from this author, but definitely worth a read, especially if you like the slowish build up.

Rating ★★★

It’s super sweet, a little slow, but touches on difficult situations really well. A great book, definitely worth the read.

This book has me so emotional I don’t even know where to start. This book is beautifully written. Had me hooked since the first chapter! I love the characters and their story and you will too!

I was born and raised in London, until my family and I moved to Ireland. It was here, in Ireland where I met the love of my life and have since had a beautiful baby.

After years of thinking about writing the story that had been dying to get out of my head, I finally confided in my other half. He gave me all the encouragement I needed to get the story out, he has been with me every step of the way.

Before I began writing, I was an avid reader, and I still am to this day. I'll read anything that's romance and has a good plot.
