Mel's thoughts...

I'm so sad to see this series end since its such a great series with characters that I have grown to love. Jeremy is the final book and his story starts off heartbreaking as in Tuckers book we see him lose the one he loved. Still reeling and now essentially shutting himself off from the world. He's moody and angry at everyone. Enter Melissa who's moved in next door and these two clash and clash again. Jeremy's somewhat rude and abrasive at times I wanted to slap him. Melissa though didn't take any crap from him and I loved her for that. She's got her own demons and has only just found the freedom. What happens next with these two is beautiful, yet shocking as their pasts seem to collide in a way you don't expect it to. It's heartwarming and heartbreaking and there are some intense and suspenseful moments. There are also some light hearted moments and we do get to see everyone from the previous books. A great ending to a fantastic series.

Maria's thoughts...

Jeremy started off as an a**e and lawd did I wanna smack him across the head, LOL. But as we all know pain and loss can turn us into people we don`t like at all. You quickly get to see Jeremy for the loving and caring man he truly is, and his funny one liners will have you laughing out loud. Melissa, is a strong young women that has endure a lot over the last 3-4 year of her life but she perseveres and moves forward. Read it one sitting so that mean I enjoyed it, and I`m sure you will too.

Katy's thoughts...

Such a bittersweet ending to this series. A great read but I am sad it is the last. This group wraps around your heart. You face this journey with them. You love every single character for their individual quirks. This one was no different. You admire Mel for her strength and bravery and Jeremy for being a true man and being there for Mel in every single way that matters. It is truly touching. Loved it

Dawne's thoughts...

I loved this book! The final book in this series and it ended with a bang! Great story line, great chemistry and an overall feel good book. I love this series!

Samantha's thoughts...

I read this series out of order I started with the fifth and final installment of the series and then went to book one. I enjoyed her Striking back series and her Violet Circle series that I couldn't wait to read this one. Melissa thought she was was moving into a quiet area until Jeremy came along, having a couple bad run ins with, their beginning was pretty rough until their relationship forms and they become amazing together. It's a must read series, you won't be disappointed

Nancy's thoughts...

It's always sad to see the end of a series but I loved this story. Melissa has escaped from the cult and is finally free. Jeremy depressed and is drinking heavily after the murder of his girlfriend Frannie. He moves in next door to Mel. After some twists and turns Mel and Jeremy get together. This book, like the others in the series caught my attention and kept me reading till the end.

Laura's thoughts...

This was an awesome read. However, I’ve totally done these books out of order, as I’ve read book 1 and then book 5. But hey, now I get to go back and read them all! Bonus! Jeremy has suffered great loss, with the death of the woman he loved. She was murdered along with 21 others. He decides to relocate so he can grieve alone. Melissa (actually named after my fab FB friend Melissa Teo), has left the cult to start her life afresh. As fate would have it, these two end up neighbours. They both have so much healing to do as you would expect. It’s an addictive read. The character progression is fantastic. I found myself really rooting for a happy ending. 5/5 from me!

Letty's thoughts...

FIVE OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS STARS! I'm going to start off and say that you should probably read the In Safe Hands Books before you pick up this one. Not that the story necessary continues but you'll get a better idea of the one of a kind man, Jeremy. In the last book, he's lost the woman he realized he loves with all his being in a horrible terrorist plot. He's alone in his lakeside resort and that's the way he wants it...until a new neighbor moves in next door. He suddenly realizes there is so much more to life when Melissa shows up. She too has had a difficult past but much different than Jeremy's. She left a life she doesn't want anyone to know about. It's not until a secret is revealed that find out just much she truly is tied to Jeremy. The greatest thing I loved about this book was there was no needless drama between the couple. They battled the demons together early on and stayed true to one another. I want to write so much more about this book but you MUST read it! My only complaint is that it's the final installment of the men from ISH, but I'll always be In Safe Hands when I re-read them and re-read them, I shall!

Pammy's thoughts...

S.M Shade is one of my unicorn Authors, I started out with Worth it the discovered her other books. Jeremy is the final instalment of ISH 😢 I loved the whole series but Jeremy is my favourite. Jeremy in all the previous books was cocky, confident and a bit of a player but something happened, something changed him. Long gone was his happy go lucky attitude, it was replaced with hurt, anger and a huge need for revenge. Then he moved next door to Melissa. I’m not giving anything away you NEED to read it. This story is full of love, hate, confusion, revenge and fear. I absolutely loved it.

Rebecca's thoughts...

I think it's unfair that we have to say goodbye to these guys. In Safe Hands needs to add more alpha protectors. Mrs. Shade think of the women and children! That being said, Jeremy brought me right back in. At the first mention of Frannie I was tearing up again. Jeremy had met his true love. He had danced around her, with her and through a tragic moment lost her. He wanted to drink away memories and plot revenge against those who took her away. Simple plan. Melissa was on the run. She needed seclusion to heal. When her boyfriend/lover/tormentor was killed she took off. She was smart enough to hide some personal things so when she got her chance she could take it. All she wants to paint, get back to normal and relax. She doesn't need an angry, drunk, pompous ass that lives next door. One drunk night, one baby and one shared past brings these two together. A great ending to a series that I don't want to end.

Terri's thoughts...

This was definitely another amazing work by SM Shade. There is just so much emotions that you are taken through with Jeremy and Melissa's story. Jeremy is suffering from the loss of his love Frannie, and Melissa is trying to get her life back together from years of being lost. Each are needing someone that can help them, but both are too head strong to see what is right in front of them. And when a miscommunication has Jeremy opening his eyes and even his heart again, both of their lives are changed forever. Both have their stories that they are not ready to share, but when the time comes their stories help build a stronger relationship. I'm sad to see the end of the In Safe Hands series, but at least i can say that just like with Alex from the Striking Back series, Shade saved the best for last.

Briana's thoughts...

This was so great! I got attached to the characters right off the start even though I thought it was so sad in the beginning. Jeremy and Melissa are perfect together. Just if you’d like a little more background on Jeremy you should read the others first. You don’t have to but I’d definitely recommend doing so. 10/10 read again.

Claire's thoughts...

Aw I missed these guys In Safe Hands was the first books I read by Shannon and each one gets better and better. Although Landon is still my favourite! Jeremy and Frannie were ment to be together, all their friends thought so. But the universe had other ideas. When Frannie is killed in a mass shooting Jeremy can't deal with it so takes himself away from everyone to drink himself stupid Mellisa joined the True Life family (cult) with her sister, years later an she has seen more than enough and has escaped. She sets up her new life at her new lake side home, when she meets her new neighbour Jeremy. Finding out she is pregnant wasn't in Mel's plans but she is determined to be the best mum she can be even if she is doing it herself. I love Mel's character and she fits right in with the ISH guys. Definitely a must read book, one click for sure.

Krista's thoughts...

Holy hell, Batman!! Jeremy is book 5 In the Safe Hands series and I could not get through it fast enough! Jeremy has always seemed to be in the background in the other books, so I had no clue to what to expect with his story. I was not disappointed! Melissa's story was heartbreaking and Agnes and Amos were a hoot! I absolutely loved this series!!

Rachael's thoughts...

A fantastic final book in what is my all time favourite series from S.M. Shade. Melissa is out of the three life cult that sucked her in in her time of need. Running from them was the best thing she did after the leader shot and killed 22 people at a mall. She got her licence and cash card and was able to access all of her money she made as an artist. She manages to make it to a town where she meets a lovely old lady called Shane's. Now she has money she buys herself a house and what she needs. Jeremy moves into the house next door to Melissa, still trying to deal with his demons from losing Frannie to a cult shooting at the mall, drinking himself into despair he has a couple of run one with melissa. Jeremy infiltrates the cult to take them down and to avenge Frannie. Can Melissa and Jeremy reach a common ground and be together? Can Jeremy ease his grief over Frannie? I am sad that this series is finished.

About The Book

This is the fifth and final book in the In Safe Hands Series. Book one is titled Landon, and is free. Melissa I escaped. For the first time in almost four years, I’m free. My freedom came at a steep cost, leaving me on my own with no family or friends. I have a lot of healing to do, and this beautiful lake house seems like a perfect setting to find myself again. I can do this. The only thing I have left is hope. Jeremy I ran. For the first time in my life, I’m alone. I failed to appreciate what I had until it was too late, and now I can’t bear the grief of my friends while suffering my own. That’s not the only reason I’ve relocated. Twenty-two people were murdered, including the woman I love. The only thing I have left is revenge.
