REVIEW: The Controversial Princess by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Mel's thoughts...

Ahh this is definitely one of the harder reviews for me to write and I’m not sure exactly how to word it but I’m going to try. I struggled with this one big time. I had such a hard time getting engaged with this storyline and specifically these characters. I couldn’t quite feel their connection at first and I found myself taking breaks while reading. I had trouble understanding Adeline’s actions and perhaps it was because of her age in the story. She’s wild and rebellious and with her age I just had trouble seeing that in a 30 year old. Maybe it’s cause I was boring and ready to settle at that age. However with that being said I did continue reading and will say that once I got to the halfway point the storyline for me got interesting and I started to feel the connection. Perhaps it was seeing her act differently then she did in the first half of the book maybe it was seeing her feeling towards Josh changing and her becoming less rebellious and wanting more. As well a flurry of activity happens in the last 40 percent of this book that is full of twists and turns a some shocking moments that have now made me somewhat desperate to see what happens next. Seriously had my mouth gaping at the end of this thinking omg no way !!! See how this review is so difficult. The first half I struggled with and the last half I devoured. I will absolutely read the next one. I think that those that enjoy a royal story with a few twists and a lot of Hot stolen sexy moments will enjoy this.

The Controversial Princess by Jodi Ellen Malpas Publication Date: May 22nd, 2018 Genre: Contemporary Romance

Her father is The King of England.

She is The Controversial Princess.

Regarded as down to earth by the press and rebellious by The King, Princess Adeline refuses to bow to the royal expectations her title carries. She knows better than anyone that the united front of the royal family is nothing but smoke and mirrors – lies and secrets masked by power and privilege. She wants no part of it, and she will never surrender to The King’s demand to marry a man she does not love. But despite Adeline’s determination to retain her free will, she remains deeply unfulfilled, feeling caged and suffocated.

That is until she meets Josh Jameson. Drawn in by his confidence, Adeline is soon captivated by the scandalously sexy American actor. His ability to penetrate her defences overwhelms her – his touch is pure fire, and his allure overpowering. Nothing has ever made her feel so alive in a world where she’s otherwise slowly drowning. However, while Josh may be Hollywood royalty, he’s not actual royalty, and Adeline knows The King and his advisors will do everything in their power to keep them apart.
