Review: Under A Different Sky by Lindsey Iler

Series: Hand Over My Heart Duet

Author: Lindsey Iler

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publication Date: May 17, 2019

My life is a mess.

I'm walking around with a black eye. My position on the hockey team is questionable at best, and if that’s not bad enough, I think I'm falling for my dead girlfriend's best friend.

Every day, it's a fight to feel alive, and yet, I drink to numb the pain. Everyone is standing back, watching me fall apart.

Everyone except Hannah. No matter how many times I push, she's there to pull me back. She refuses to let me spiral any deeper. And after one kiss—she’s impossible to ignore.

Unfortunately, it seems she and I aren’t the only thing being kept a secret.

My Heart has literally been ripped out of my chest, and tossed at my feet. Holy WOW, that was such an epic emotional rollercoaster that dropped me on my ass

Iler just completely blindsided me, right from the start. Under a Different Sky, starts off so heavy, emotionally. The turmoil..... the guilt, that that Nick and Hannah face is like a rapid succession of sucker punches to the heart. The broken and the damaged heroes and heroines are my Achilles heel, always have been, and always will be. Iler captured my heart with Nick and Hannah, so effortlessly, so flawlessly. I seriously felt I was walking the halls of their school, sitting in the stands at the rink, and watching up close and personal how these two amazingly written character face their demons.

Under a Different Sky is just hands down phenomenal. A story that took me to the best parts of the reading world. So thank you Lindsey for writing this book, bringing these characters to life, and sharing a piece of you soul with me and the many more who have read this book!

OH. MY. GAWD! This book... Where do I even begin? Under A Different Sky is so much more than just a simple love story. It's a story of loss and heartache. It's a story of strength and never giving up. It's a story of finding yourself again after the darkness tries to take over. It is a story that will tug at your heart strings from the very beginning.

I absolutely loved Nick and Hannah! The chemistry and pull these two have is extraordinary. They both struggled internally with their feelings, but each in their own way. Nick lost his first true love and doesn't know how to live without her. He doesn't know how to let her go and how to move on. The raw emotion in him as he struggles was absolutely heartbreaking to see. And Hannah, she lost her best friend in the world. On top of that, she made some promises to Mia that she wants to keep, but is struggling to uphold.

Watching Nick and Hannah together was a beautiful sight to see. The happiness they found in each other while trying to heal was absolutely magical. They were two halves of a whole who completed each other in every way. They had they type of love that every girl longs for when growing up. But their journey wasn't an easy one. There were lots of bumps and bruises along the way.

Under A Different Sky was such an emotional trip. The writing was phenomenal. The author didn't just make me feel the book. She made me live it, experience it and breathe it. I loved each and every swoon-worthy, heart fluttering, heartbreaking, painful and devastating moment. It gave me all of the feels and I couldn't possible ask for more. This story is one that will touch everyone's life and take you on the most amazing ride. This book deserves all the stars and more.

You're to blame was the first story i've read of Lindsey, it sucked me in and couldn't put it down. I knew Lindsey would be an author I one click after that story. Well she sure doesn't disappoints, Under a different sky pulled me from the beginning, Nick and Hannah's story started after they both lost someone close to them, Nick's first love and Hannah's best friend. Hannah pulls Nick out of the darkness, and he slowly starts to feel whole again, but the two of them soon start to realize nothing is going to be easy with their relationship, Many times I wanted to slap Nick, but at the same time your heart breaks for him. I can't wait to see how their story ends.

There was so many layer to this story. And Iler played on all the heart strings when she gave the book world this story. Readers are gonna be able to feel all the raw emotions that both Nick and Hannah are feeling. And the struggles that they are going through when it comes to the feeling that they have for one another. If your looking for a book that will take you on a ride with loops and turns, then this is your book.
