Review - Vlad by K. Webster & Ker Dukey
I’m not surprised at all that I loved this book and I knew that K. Webster and Ker Dukey would deliver a dark mafia romance that had me excited and quickly invested in the characters, the storyline and the intensity. Vlad and Irina are almost night and day. She’s sweet and innocent while he’s imposing and dangerous. But the chemistry is there and it’s heady and powerful and you can feel the pull they have towards one another. Of course there is the matter that Vlad is engaged to Irina’s sister and that creates a storyline full of intrigue wondering what is going to happen that kept me in suspense. Not too mention that we have the Russian mafia and everything that comes with that. There’s betrayal, secrets, bloodshed mixed in with a shall we say an almost forbidden romance that shouldn’t happen considering the circumstances. With some twists along the way Vlad had me glued to the pages and I’m already salivating for the next book.
The Vasiliev name is a powerful one.
We rule with an iron fist and we do it well.
Being the eldest, I am Father’s best hope at keeping us at the top of the food chain.
Everything I do has purpose.
Everything I do has reason.
I play my games thinking several moves ahead.
Power. Power. Power.
The next move requires I marry and soon.
This will strengthen us and secure our position.
But I am not to marry her.
I am to wed the eldest Volkov.
Problem is, her younger sister is the one who awakens my dead heart.
It is her I want in my bed and by my side forever.
Her. Her. Her.
In this game, though, it’s not about what I want.
But maybe it can be about what she wants.
I am Vlad.
Vile. Vicious. Villainous. Vasiliev.
And I will win eventually.
About the Authors
About Ker: My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles...prepare for the unexpected. I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up. My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling. When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
