Mel's Fav Reads of 2018
The Ribbon Duet by Pepper Winters
The Ribbon Duet tops my list of fav reads from 2018. This story was so captivating, heartbreaking and one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever read.

“What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait…that’s too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret?
I’ll tell you what you do.
You lie.”
Rising by Jessica Ruben
A debut novel that hooked me completely. Rising is Book 1 from the Vincent & Eve series from Debut Author Jessica Ruben. The storyline took a hold of me and Rising had me salivating for more.

All I want is to leave my crime-ridden shadow of a home in New York City. I’ve done everything I can to keep my head down and focus on my studies. College is my only goal; love has never been on the map…
That is, until my sister brings me to an underground fight, where I meet a gorgeous and mysterious man: Vincent.
Talk Nerdy To Me by C.M. Owens
Talk Nerdy To Me comes from one of my ALL TIME FAV SERIES EVER, Sterling Shore Series by C.M. Owens. Talk Nerdy to Me also happens to have my favorite female heroine of all time. This book had me literally in tears from laughing so hard. And I simply adored the characters in this one particularly Britt Sterling.
Our Unscripted Story by L.A Fiore
WOW JUST WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!! Our Unscripted Story by LA Fiore is perfection simply perfection.
An epic romance that sucks you in and doesn't let go. From the very first pages of this book I was hooked. Watching this love unfold right before my very eyes and I couldn't put this down.
Eulogy by Rachel Van Dyken
It's no secret that I am utterly obsessed with the characters from The Eagle Elite series by Rachel Van Dyken. This mafia series has to be at the top of my list for Mafia reads. I mean the very very top of the list. Eulogy destroyed my heart, Chase Abandanato was simply one of those consuming characters. I bleed for him in this one. Blood In No Out.
Heath by K. Webster & Nikki Ash
Nikki Ash and K. Webster wrote together beautifully, as if they were one person. Inspired by Wuthering Height, Heath is a modern day retelling of a classic with a twist that only K Webster with Nikki Ash could do. With multiple POVs this story captivated me and it's one of those books where you feel each character so deeply.
Ryan's Bed by Tijan
Ryan’s Bed is simply WOAH !!! Filled with pure angst and it’s a read that will burrow deep and bring out all the emotions. It was riveting, powerful and I was left utterly speechless at the end of this book.
Heartbreak Warfare by Heather M. Orgeron & Kate Stewart
Kate Stewart is of course a fav of mine and and instant go to and Heather M. Orgeron has found herself a new fangirl with Heartbreak Warfare. This book was PURE EFFING ANGST !!!!!!!!!!!!!! It wrecked me over and over and over again. This one is heavy with a capital FACK !!!! I'm still not over it.
My Torin by K. Webster
K. Webster's writing is so freaking good, she's on this list twice. This one is a standalone by her and man oh man does this woman know how to freaking write a book !!!!!!!!!!! My Torin was my very first read of 2018. It was outstanding and K Webster continues to be a go to author for me because you always get something different but every time it’s something amazing.
Pretty Venom by Ella Fields
Hi, my name is Melissa and I'm addicted to Angst ridden reads. Nice to meet you.

I would say I need help but really I just need more. Pretty Venom by Ella Fields gave me more, and more and more. I went into this one completely blind and then Ella Fields took my heart and smashed it over and over and over again. She punched me right in the muth effing feels and I loved it.
Crowned With Guilt by S.K. Rose
Crowned With Guilt is the second debut on my list that knocked me off my feet. S.K. Rose bursts onto the romance scene with an unforgettable debut. If you love romances that will have you all up in knots and your heart racing then this is definitely a MUST READ. This one is a can't miss read you all and is Book 1 from her duet Remember The Reaper. If this is an indication of things to come from the talented SK. Rose then look out book world you are in for some amazing books.
The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen
Ok ok so this is the last one for my fav reads of 2018 and fittingly enough as it was the very last book I read in 2018. And unfortunately this one isn't out just quite yet but I was fortunate enough to get an Advanced Copy. But no fear this book comes out January 9th so you don't have to wait too long. The Kiss Thief is absolutely riveting and LJ Shen proves yet again why she is a best selling author. The writing is perfection and I completely fell in love with the antihero.
