M Robinson knocks it out of the park with El Diablo. I fell completely in love with Cruz Martinez. The son of El Diablo was destined to walk in his father's shoes and the circumstances that lead him to becoming El Diablo are tragic and make for a hell of a romantic suspense. There wasn't a single moment that I wasn't fully engaged in this book. So completely consumed that there's one thing about this book that didn't even register until the end and when I realized what that was my immediate reaction was DANG M Robinson is a G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She entertained me, thrilled me, had me swooning over a "villain", she kept me at the edge of my seat and even at the end she had me not wanting to leave these characters or this story. I can safely say that El Diablo II may just be my favorite read from M Robinson and that's saying a lot considering I have pretty much every single one of her books sitting on my bookshelf. Stroke of Midnight is a bit of a forbidden romance featuring a younger woman and an older man. And let me tell you that Webster gets us right into the thick of things from the very get go. And OH MY it's wickedly delicious. There were parts of me that seriously wasn't sure whether I wanted to love or hate the anti-hero in this one and I gotta say that I actually enjoyed the fact that I went back and forth. He's unapologetic about what he wants. What I also loved is the heroine, she chose what she wanted to do. And as this story moved along I ended up fulling shipping these two. The more I read the more I loved and it has me wanting more. I don’t want to clean. I want to sit behind a desk and crunch numbers. Talk shop. Plan expansions. My dad is an economic analyst, which is what I want to be too. I’d always imagined us going into business together and heading up our own firm. Cleaning won’t get me there. I suppose playing nice with Manda the Maneater is my only resort at this point. For the next hour, I rush through all the offices that don’t need much more than the trash cans emptied, and then make it to the CEO’s office. One day, I’ll have an office like Winston Constantine, but I won’t be some old fuddy duddy. I’ll be a boss babe with style. My employees will love me, because I imagine I’ll be cool as hell. Rather than hire a boring interior designer like whatever robot chose the furniture and décor for Halcyon, I’ll do it all myself. I’m once again daydreaming of my future that seems more and more murky these days as I fumble through my email on my phone to find the code to get into Big Man’s office. Of all the offices, this one is the coldest and most boring. As though whoever Winston Constantine is, he doesn’t do any sort of work, but instead gazes out the windows all day. Finally, I locate the code and punch it in. It’s like twelve numbers long, and I fail a few times before it grants me entry. I literally settled in and thought heck yes Amo take me there. And then, well and then she took me for a ride I didn't expect. She pulled the rug right from under me and I thought Gawd dangit Amo what in the cinnamon toasted crunch is happening here. Yeah totally stole that from a meme I saw and you know what it fits the bill so great here, cause Amo went in a completely different direction then what I was expecting. And it was deliciously dirty and I loved every freaking minute of it. By the end of it I was like Holy Shizzzzzz what in the heck was that. Brilliant as usual. This series is my fav out of everything I've read from her so far and it just keeps on getting better. Waiting for Forever is what I'm calling a bit of an underdog love story and I live for those. The once nerdy girl that was shy and hoped that the boy would notice her. So relatable for a nerdy girl such as myself. I loved living vicariously through the female lead in this. Of course it was made even better by the delicious Leo Drake. All around good guy with a devil of an ex-wife which makes for a bit of a suspenseful read. My heart literally went out to Leo. I got so caught up in the feels, the ups and downs of this story. With an HEA that is just beyond perfect, Waiting for Forever is the perfect Summer read. Now to wait for more from Prince. And while I wait I'll be rereading this entire series and the rest of her backlist. That's how much I love her writing. As we get closer to the conclusion of the Goddess Isles series, Pepper Winters continues to have me obsessed with this storyline. Every book in this series has me on high alert. Not knowing what's to come, but knowing that whatever is around the corner is going to have me screaming. Sully Sullivan oh my word, this man is just delicious !!! I'm in love with him, obsessed even. He's such an enigma. On one hand he's the dangerous anti-hero, and on the other hand he's the fierce protector of those that can't defend themselves. It's such a contradiction but it makes him that much more intriguing. And then we have Eleanor, and she is absolutely perfect for Sully. These two are fated to be together. Their pull is undeniable and I'm living for it. With every turn of the page, Fourth A Lie has me holding on for dear life. A definite fav series for me this year. She has this signature style that I love. There are always so many layers to them. Crowned by Fate is full of WTF moments, twist and turns and it's utterly entertaining. Basically her stories are BADASS !!!! She's a master at giving you that anti-hero that you would willingly follow down the dark path even when you know in your head that it's not what you should do. Dirty and delicious is one way I would describe her male characters. Fierce and strong is how I would describe her heroine in this book.. This book was suspenseful and so complex with so much happening that you need to pay attention to the details. You need to take your time with this story and not miss a beat. Truly enticing, it had me enraptured. I also may or may not be wishing and hoping that one of the secondary characters in this gets a book of his own. The heroine Presley is left jilted at the alter and is one of those characters that you find yourself rooting for through the entire book. Enter Hollywood star and Enemy number 1 Shaw Valance who is set to star in a movie about those that are close to Presley. She's rightfully guarded when it comes to him. She's caught his eye and these two get into some pretty good exchanges with one another. The back and forth between these two is highly entertaining. All things come to a head and I gotta say I found myself cursing out some characters here and there. It's got just the right amount of angst and sexiness. Looking forward to the next one. My realtor would have earned a higher commission if she had mentioned that the woman who lived next door was Presley Marks. “Isn’t this a surprise?” “Is it?” Presley asked, frowning as I descended my steps and crossed the lawn, meeting her in her driveway. Book 2 left me desperately wanting to know what happens next after the way it ended. And we get to see the "chaos", "carnage", the OMG hold on to your knickers events that happen next.
