  • Runaway Road by Devney Perry

Title: Runaway Road Series: Runaway Author: Devney Perry Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: March 6, 2020 Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home. Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend. She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom. Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both. Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU Rating ★★★★ Reviewed by Melissa A new small town series that will give you all those romance feels. I adored this book by Devney Perry and already know that I'm going to be a fan of this series. From the get go, I knew that I loved the female heroine in this. I was instantly a "friend" wishing for an HEA for her. I'm also a huge fan of small town romances, so when Londyn finds herself broken down and stranded in a small town I settled in for night knowing I would read this book in one sitting. Enter Brooks Cohen, ALL MAN but he's the type of man that would make you feel safe just by standing close to you. He's got his own story and once I found out what that was my feelings for him intensified. While the relationship between Brooks and Londyn is a slow burn, it's still gave me all those feelings of giddiness. Londyn's just passing through and I was anxious at times to see just what would happen as these two seem to gravitate toward each other. Each interaction you could feel their feelings grow toward another. I couldn't help but wait with bated breath to see just how things would end up. If you love a small town romance with just a little bit of angst then definitely read this book. It's one of those heartwarming feel good reads that you can just sink into. “When was the last time you had pie for dinner?” “Can’t say I ever have.” Her fork dove into the chocolate cream. She hummed and her eyes drifted closed when the bite passed her lips. She savored it, rolling it around in her mouth. The woman had a talented tongue—lucky pie. She moaned again, torturing me with the subtle sound. She swallowed, then shot me a smile that was pure sex. “You’re missing out.” I snapped my fingers, raising my hand in the air to flag down the waitress. When she came over, I pointed to Londyn’s plate. “I’ll have that.” Devney is the USA Today bestselling author of the Jamison Valley series. Born and raised in Montana, she loves writing books set in her treasured home state. After working in the technology industry for nearly a decade, she abandoned conference calls and project schedules to enjoy a slower pace at home with her husband and two sons. Writing one book, let alone many, was not something she ever expected to do. But now that she's discovered her true passion for writing romance, she has no plans to ever stop. • Review: Colt by Rachel Lyn Adams

Title: Colt Author: Rachel Lyn Adams Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: January 1, 2020 Sometimes all it takes is a spark to ignite an inferno… When Ember arrives from the Reno chapter of the Desert Sinners MC, she rekindles a fire deep inside of me. My attraction to her hasn’t dissipated after all these years, but despite our history, what she’s currently doing brings out a rage that trumps anything else. I have enough trouble with women without her coming back into my life with secrets and hidden agendas. But an attack on one of my brothers brings the truth to the surface. She isn’t the enemy, but we have plenty of those breathing down our necks from all directions. No one can be trusted. And losing myself in Ember again means risking not only my heart but the safety of the entire club. When threats converge and everything is on the line, will love be enough to keep the flame alive? Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU Terri's Review - Rating ★★★★ I have been waiting for Colt's story since I read Mac's. And I will say it was worth the wait. This story was equal parts action/heartbreaking/steamy. Ember was not a girl that I saw coming. You kind of get an idea in the beginning of what kind of person she is, but sometimes first impressions can be deceiving. And as this story progresses my heart started to bleed for Ember. Colt was a complete asshole. But, he was a lovable asshole. There was moments that you saw through his hard exterior and saw the man that he hid from everyone. The returning characters were just as enjoyable as they were the first time that you were introduced to them. And then there was some new characters that were introduced that I had plotted how to dispose of their bodies. Torch being the main one, that man was one that I just knew from the start that I wanted to see him 6 feet under. The continued threat from the first book was present, and I was invested in seeing if and how things were going to unfold. The moment that I got the the end I was saying to myself, "Ok let me have the next one." And boy am I excited that Wolf is up next. Way to go Rachel Lyn Adams on another great read that kept my attention and has me wanting more. Rebecca's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Colt Is VP of the Desert Sinners. He gives all his loyalty to his club. He has no faith in women, and loves his single life the way it is. He's been burned too many time by the opposite sex. Ember is also loyal to her club. When she goes back to her home club, the one she grew up in she runs straight into Colt. They have an explosive first meeting which only gets more intense as situations keep forcing them together. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rachel lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, five children, dog, three cats, and a bearded dragon. Whenever she has some free time you'll find her with a book in her hands. She never believed she was the creative type until she sat down one day and started plotting out a story that wouldn't leave her head. From there the ideas continued to flow. It was then that she found her outlet and she hasn't stopped since. CONNECT WITH THE AUTHOR Website | Facebook |Facebook Group | Instagram | Amazon| Goodreads | Twitter

  • Review: Dad Bod by Silla Webb & Kaden Layne

Title: Dad Bod Author: Silla Webb & Kaden Layne Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: January 1, 2020 Have you ever loved something so much you’d do anything to protect it? Keep it safe, no matter the expense to yourself? No matter how miserable it makes you? Yeah, we all have. Some folks feel the need to protect their loved ones—I feel the need to protect my six-pack. And my washboard has been well protected beneath sixty pounds of hardened man chub, but my sexy abs are about to make a comeback. I do it alright, even sign up for a trainer at the gym. This dude is just what I need to get back on track. He’ll give me the brutal drill sergeant attitude I need to kick my ass in line. It’s gonna be freakin’ awesome. Imagine my shock and shrinking manhood when Jordan Williams walks in. A five-feet-six inch chick with more curves than a back road and just the right amount of sass and sweet. She’s bold as brass and tough as nails, and I’m completely screwed. She encourages me to set three milestones for my weight loss, a way to reward myself for the pounds shed. One is getting back on the dating scene. It’s not what I expect, but I have a hard time saying no to her. I’m not only losing my dad bod but my man card too. All it takes is two disastrous dates and several awkward situations for me to realize who I really want to show all my tools to is right in front of me. Busting my ass in the gym every day. Maybe I should have concentrated just as much on protecting my heart as I have my abs. Jordan is out of my league, and my goal is to get on her level. Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU Sarah's Review - Rating ★★★★ A great change of pace loved how this story line was different and stood out from the rest. Some quirky characters and whole heap of mischief and drama surrounds them. The only thing that didn't make this a 5 star read was the editing. Dawne's Review - Rating ★★★★ Southern Sass! I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet story with a side of sass. I loved the plot of a single dad raising a precocious 5 year old and struggling with everyday life. A life changing situation leads him to the love of his life. One minute you feel the sadness and the next you are belly laughing. A quick read with lots of fun mixed in. Dark, gritty, dirty, raw, emotional, highly intense, twisted, and absolutely captivating book! Deke and Demi's chemistry is off the charts HOT! Their story is vicious and the games they played with each other were almost deadly, gotta love that hate to lovers and revenge passion they had going on. It was beyond words good! My emotions are all in a tangle because this book put me through some emotional twister match! Gah, this whole series has been amazing! I love this author so hard. Highly recommended! Dana's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Deke!!!! My favorite shark that I have been waiting for stressed me out so much. I didn’t know whether I wanted to hug him or punch from one minute to the next. I love that even though this book is about my guy Deke, the other characters play a significant role also. As always with the GWS, there is violence and bullying. If you are okay with it then you will probably love this series!! Sarah's Review - Rating ★★★★★ I can't even..... Did that......? I mean.... I loved that this was just as dark. Just as intense. Still left me reeling..... So many twists.... The plot kept thickening! Katy's Review - Rating ★★★★ Well the plot thickens and I would still love to be a shark without a doubt. Their loyalty is unwavering and solid. They are the group you want to be apart from. The people who will protect you at all costs. Deke was a great character. His mysterious and brooding nature lures you in. The pain with the pleasure, oh boy my blood sure pumped. Demi is amazing. Always second best until now and you felt for her all the way through even with Becky's perspective. Becky got what she deserves and the best sister won hands down. A thrilling read that is sure to leave you hooked beginning to end! Krista's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Holy h*ll!!!!! Okay two important things when reading this book: 1. It is NSFW! So no sneak reading at work 2. Don't read it while your significant other is out of town!! This book is so steamy and hot with an ending that you don't see coming! I love this series but I never liked the male characters in the story. Deke may have changed my mind on this. He is a bad boy, no doubt, but he has a heart underneath that rough exterior. I can't really say anything else without giving too much away, so I'll just say that you NEED this series in your life!!!! Katie's Review - Rating ★★★★★ I honestly did not see that coming. PURCHASE THIS BOOK Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU REVIEW Sophie's Review - Rating ★★★★ A page turner!!!! This was a new to me author and one I'll definitely keep an eye out for. The book was dark and gritty just how I liked it, although there was a lot going on so at times struggled to understand what the actual plot was though. The detailing of the blood and gore definitely kept this black heart happy though. Katie's Review - Rating ★★★ It was a good story Damiens promise was a good story. I just wasnt a fan of this book. The beginning was cool and I really thought I would be into it but I just wasnt. It didnt hold my attention. I wasnt drawn in the way that I needed to be to enjoy a book. It was a good story. Briana's Review - Rating ★★★★★ I think dark reads are my thing now. Sometimes I think I’ve reached my limit on what I feel is a dark read, and I’m constantly surprised that books tend to exceed my expectations. Damien and Adrianna’s story is no exception. Though dark and twisted (and slightly frustrating), it has a confusing air of warring hopelessness with spotted elements of “you’re wrong—there is hope”. That is until you’re thrown curve balls that turn out to be bombs. Then it’s all a flurry of panic and paranoia as you try to figure out just what the frick is going on. Dear lord, that was such a rollercoaster of anxiety and gloom. And now I really can’t wait to read book two. Nakita's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Mind blown This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it wasn’t what I was expecting! It was so much more and way better the what I thought! I absolutely loved the characters the story and the world it takes place in! This book is seriously mind blowing! Y’all need to pick your copy of this up you won’t be disappointed ABOUT THE AUTHOR Vic Tyler is a new author of contemporary romance novels. She likes to think she weaves intricate stories about complex characters who come to life, but that's the roundabout way of saying she writes too much and overshoots her estimated word count by 45%. (See? Concision is very hard for her.) So if you want a fantastic (and very hot) bang for your buck, you came to the right place. When she's not writing, VT is a compulsive orange eater who's a little too obsessed with finding the right espresso-to-milk balance for her lattes. She's fond of exploring all kinds of things (except caves), baking 'til her kitchen's a mess, and laughing at the questionably funny. Oh, and she also enjoys doing puzzles, which is why you'll often find her breaking her characters' hearts and finding new ways to piece them together again. • Review: Behind The Veil by Kathryn Nolan

Title: Behind The Veil Author: Kathryn Nolan Genre: Romantic Suspense Publication Date: June 21, 2019 Just because the marriage is fake doesn’t mean the attraction is… Delilah Barrett is a head-turning beauty on a quest for justice. The former cop with a checkered past has made a career of recovering stolen rare books with her private detective firm. She’s level-headed, smart, cool under pressure… and entirely unprepared for her new assignment. When a centuries-old book worth an astronomical fortune disappears from Philadelphia’s Franklin Museum, Delilah is paired up with Henry Finch, a brilliant rare book librarian and celebrated academic. Their orders: Go undercover as a married couple and recover the book by whatever means necessary. Henry can speak four languages and wear a suit like he was born in Armani. But he’s never squared off against criminals. Never operated in this underground society of glamour and greed. And he’s certainly never pretended to be married to a woman who both dazzles and distrusts him. Delilah’s keen instincts are her greatest gift, but her growing attraction to the sexy librarian is messing with her head. Every feigned caress, every for-the-audience kiss only heightens the seduction, building a fire that refuses to extinguish. As the danger intensifies, so does the temptation to let their fake desire become real. With a priceless artifact at stake, can this undercover couple learn to trust each other…before it’s too late? PURCHASE THIS BOOK Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU REVIEW Sophie's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Couldn't put it down!!!!!! Wow this was a new to me author and one I can't wait to read more from. This book had everything I loved about reading in it and more. Don't want to say too much about it as this needs to be experienced first hand but I will say, prepare to lose sleep, plus grab some tissues and some wine as once you start you won't stop. Briana's Review - Rating ★★★★ A surprising first for me. A slightly nerdy/sexy librarian and a female cop. Who knew? I certainly didn’t when I jumped in to Henry and Delilah’s story. Their story starts off a bit too slow, but instead of a usual expected blaze it kind of morphed in to a slow burn. I liked it. I liked the supporting characters. But what made this a 4 instead of a 5 was because Delilah kind of seemed a little annoyingly repetitive and Henry just rolled with it, like he was a doormat. That’s just my opinion. I think I’d read this again, just because it seems like that type where you have to come back and see if I missed anything. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kathryn Nolan is an adventurous hippie chick and loves to write steamy romance. Her books are filled with slow-burn sexual tension, memorable characters, tons of heart -- and are often set in wild and beautiful locations. Kathryn started her writing career in elementary school, writing about Star Wars and Harry Potter and inventing love stories in her many journals. She blames her obsession with slow-burn on her similar obsession for The X-Files. Kathryn is a wanderer at heart, and loves to spend her free time hiking, camping, and traveling in her camper van ("Van Morrison") with her cute, nerdy husband and Walter, their rescue pup. Kathryn is a Philly girl who just moved back home after spending more than 8 years living in Northern California -- and six months traveling across the country in her camper van. PURCHASE THIS BOOK Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU REVIEW Ophelia's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Enjoyable, quick read! I really enjoyed the plot and the characters were witty and funny making it amusing to read. Trust me this book will have you laughing out loud. Their marriage is based off of Eloise's need to be protected from her ex boyfriend where she can't be reached. Many plot twists as to why Rex was chosen to protect her which I loved reading about as it gave the book more depth. My only issue with this book is Eloise at first was quite a self entitled character believing that she was above help and just being a plain old brat but as the story develops she gets better to read about and matures a lot. Equally, I didn't like how her sister who set her up with Rex went over the top on protection and treated her like a child who couldn't support herself. This played a lot into why Eloise seems immature at first however, once away from her sister she develops as her own character which is interesting to read. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read that is funny and filled with banter between the two characters. Helpful Laura's Review - Rating ★★★★★ Great book Rex and Eloise are fabulous characters. They marry for her safety and security, to protect her from her ex. Fabulous story! Throughout the next couple of years she is all he can think about. Then fate steps in and throws them together on a job. She was the one that got away and the only regret he has. I loved this book and the whole series. • Review: Realism: Sugar and Spice, Ink by Evan Grace

Title: Realism: Sugar and Spice, Ink Author: Evan Grace Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: April 2, 2019 Ordinary, typical, conformed, are words never used to describe me. I’ve never been one to play by the rules. It’s my world, my life and I do things my way. I see the way they stare at my body covered in tattoos and my lavender hair, I just don’t give a damn. There is only one thing in this world that can get me fired up, that’s screwing with my daughter. As a single mom, it’s my job to protect her, fight for her. She is and will always be my top priority. So, when I get a call that she’s in trouble at school, with a boy- no less, my claws are out and ready to strike. And the boy’s father, some high society stockbroker, isn’t about to deter me. I don’t care how sexy, smart and rugged he is. Opposites may attract, and I’ve been down that road before, it’s one I never plan to travel again. A man like that would never be interested in a woman like me. That I know for certain, after all I’m a realist. Joaq, soon realised how special she was and couldn't hold back. Iris too. They certainly had chemistry in spades. Briana's Review - Rating ★★★ Cute and sweet. Amicable and magnetic. I think that’s the best way to describe Mona and Joaquin. As far as first in series, I thought it was a good introductory piece for the side characters. They seemed like more of an interesting story at times where the main ones were lacking. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it. It was cute and sweet. But sometimes it was just slow. I will read the others in the series though. I can’t wait to read Nick and Sierra’s story. Emma's Review - Rating ★★★★ Enjoyable read An enjoyable read, and my first by this author. Quite fast paced but I kept up alright. Will check out other Books from this Author ABOUT THE AUTHOR A Midwesterner and a readaholic most of her life. Some of her favorites include, Aurora Rose Reynolds, (the queen) Kristen Ashley, Kaylee Ryan, Natasha Madison, and Harper Sloan. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, movies, TV shows and life. • Review: Under A Different Sky by Lindsey Iler

Title: Under A Different Sky Series: Hand Over My Heart Duet Author: Lindsey Iler Genre: Contemporary Romance Publication Date: May 17, 2019 My life is a mess. I'm walking around with a black eye. My position on the hockey team is questionable at best, and if that’s not bad enough, I think I'm falling for my dead girlfriend's best friend. Every day, it's a fight to feel alive, and yet, I drink to numb the pain. Everyone is standing back, watching me fall apart. Everyone except Hannah. No matter how many times I push, she's there to pull me back. She refuses to let me spiral any deeper. And after one kiss—she’s impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, it seems she and I aren’t the only thing being kept a secret. PURCHASE THIS BOOK Amazon US Amazon CA Amazon UK Amazon AU REVIEWS Katie's Review - Rating ★★★★★ My Heart has literally been ripped out of my chest, and tossed at my feet. Holy WOW, that was such an epic emotional rollercoaster that dropped me on my ass Iler just completely blindsided me, right from the start. Under a Different Sky, starts off so heavy, emotionally. The turmoil..... the guilt, that that Nick and Hannah face is like a rapid succession of sucker punches to the heart. The broken and the damaged heroes and heroines are my Achilles heel, always have been, and always will be. Iler captured my heart with Nick and Hannah, so effortlessly, so flawlessly. I seriously felt I was walking the halls of their school, sitting in the stands at the rink, and watching up close and personal how these two amazingly written character face their demons. Under a Different Sky is just hands down phenomenal. A story that took me to the best parts of the reading world. So thank you Lindsey for writing this book, bringing these characters to life, and sharing a piece of you soul with me and the many more who have read this book! Merediths's Review - Rating ★★★★★ OH. MY. GAWD! This book... Where do I even begin? Under A Different Sky is so much more than just a simple love story. It's a story of loss and heartache. It's a story of strength and never giving up. It's a story of finding yourself again after the darkness tries to take over. It is a story that will tug at your heart strings from the very beginning. I absolutely loved Nick and Hannah! The chemistry and pull these two have is extraordinary. They both struggled internally with their feelings, but each in their own way. Nick lost his first true love and doesn't know how to live without her. He doesn't know how to let her go and how to move on. The raw emotion in him as he struggles was absolutely heartbreaking to see. And Hannah, she lost her best friend in the world. On top of that, she made some promises to Mia that she wants to keep, but is struggling to uphold. Watching Nick and Hannah together was a beautiful sight to see. The happiness they found in each other while trying to heal was absolutely magical. They were two halves of a whole who completed each other in every way. They had they type of love that every girl longs for when growing up. But their journey wasn't an easy one. There were lots of bumps and bruises along the way. Under A Different Sky was such an emotional trip. The writing was phenomenal. The author didn't just make me feel the book. She made me live it, experience it and breathe it. I loved each and every swoon-worthy, heart fluttering, heartbreaking, painful and devastating moment. It gave me all of the feels and I couldn't possible ask for more. This story is one that will touch everyone's life and take you on the most amazing ride. This book deserves all the stars and more. Samanthas's Review - Rating ★★★★★ You're to blame was the first story i've read of Lindsey, it sucked me in and couldn't put it down. I knew Lindsey would be an author I one click after that story. Well she sure doesn't disappoints, Under a different sky pulled me from the beginning, Nick and Hannah's story started after they both lost someone close to them, Nick's first love and Hannah's best friend. Hannah pulls Nick out of the darkness, and he slowly starts to feel whole again, but the two of them soon start to realize nothing is going to be easy with their relationship, Many times I wanted to slap Nick, but at the same time your heart breaks for him. I can't wait to see how their story ends. Terri's Review - Rating ★★★★ This was one emotional ride right from the start. It was one that almost had me becoming teary eyed. And I am not one that is easy to crack, and Iler came close. There was so many layer to this story. And Iler played on all the heart strings when she gave the book world this story. Readers are gonna be able to feel all the raw emotions that both Nick and Hannah are feeling. And the struggles that they are going through when it comes to the feeling that they have for one another. If your looking for a book that will take you on a ride with loops and turns, then this is your book. SERIES READING ORDER ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lindsey Iler is the author of the Our Worlds series.
